个人简介
Dr. Tolchin is an assistant professor of neurology at the Yale School of Medicine. His clinical and research focus is on functional neurological disorders and epilepsy. He investigates the use of motivational interviewing, smartphone apps, and other novel behavioral and technological interventions to improve treatment adherence and outcomes for patients with psychogenic seizures and with epilepsy. He is also interested in clinical ethics, research ethics, and the ethical allocation of scarce medical resources.
Dr. Tolchin completed medical school at Harvard University, neurology residency at Columbia University Medical Center, and fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research has been recognized with Young Investigator Awards from the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the American Epilepsy Society, the Rebecca Goldberg Kaufman Honor from the American Epilepsy Society, the Emerging Leaders Fellowship from the American Academy of Neurology, and the 2020 Epilepsia Clinical Science Prize from the International League Against Epilepsy. He serves on the American Academy of Neurology's Guidelines Subcommittee and Ethics, Law, and Humanities Committee, and on the American Epilepsy Society’s Psychosocial Comorbidities Committee.
