I have a long standing interest into the genetic regulation of cancer progression. Combining animal models of cancer with large scale screening platforms we successfully identified multiple genes that alter metastasis, and have developed cytotoxic agents towards these markers. Our discoveries have also identified critical elements within the tumour microenvironment that can modulate metastatic propensity. Of current interest are pathways that transduce these anti-metastatic signals.
