个人简介
Avishai Ben-David received the B.S. degree (cumlaude) in atmospheric sciences from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel, in 1981, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in atmospheric physics from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 1983 and 1986, respectively.
He is a Research Physicist with the U.S Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center, Maryland. He has 25 years of theoretical and experimental work in the area of passive [Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)] and active (lidar) remote sensing. His research covers a wide spectrum of areas: multispectral long wave infrared lidars and FTIR analysis; hyperspectral detection and identification algorithms; radiative transfer in the atmosphere (aerosols and chemical vapors, polarization, scattering, absorption, and thermal emission); modeling and simulations; statistical and signal processing methods to enhance signals in the presence of noise and clutter. He is involved in developing passive infrared remote sensing sensors, evaluation of new technologies and theoretical research of fundamental concepts in remote sensing and light scattering.
