Prof Chapagain is internationally recognised as the pioneer in innovative research on globalisation of water resources and water footprint. He has almost three decades of experience in the fields of Integrated Water Resources Management, Water Footprint Assessment, industrial and agricultural water use efficiency and sustainability, irrigation, hydrology and watershed modelling, flood risk management, river basin planning and management, and environmental impact assessment. His main carrier roles include working as Senior Water Advisor for WWF (5yr, UK), as Science Director for Water Footprint Network (4yr, The Netherlands), Irrigation Engineer (12yr, Nepal), and the rest as academic in universities. Prof Chapagain is Editors-In-Chief for the Open Access Scientific Journal H2Open published by IWA Publishing, and serves as editor for 5 other scientific journals.
