Anupam Kumar Gupta received the bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, India, in 2008, the M.Sc. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, USA, in 2016, all in mechanical engineering. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the University of Bristol, Bristol, U.K. His main research focus is on the development of artificial robotic touch using bio-inspired tactile sensing and machine learning. He is also interested in exploring how touch enabled exploration and manipulation capabilities can contribute to human-like active learning in robots.
