Antonio Rosato

Antonio Rosato, received his PhD in Chemistry in 1998 at the University of Florence. He is Associate Professor at the University of Florence, Faculty of Sciences, since 2002. Among other roles, Antonio Rosato is a member of the Quality Assurance committee of the University of Florence.Metalloproteins are the main focus of his research activities. He has developed methods for the NMR investigation of the solution structure of paramagnetic metalloproteins. He is actively working on the implementation of bioinformatics methods for the study of metalloproteins, including their identification in the genomes, the prediction of their structure and of their interactions of biological relevance. He coauthored the MetalPDB database of metal sites in macromolecular structures, metalpdb.cerm.unifi.it. MetalPDB includes a number of ancillary services, among which MetalPredator, for the prediction of iron-sulfur metalloproteomes, and MetalS2 for the fold-independent structural comparison of metal sites.
