Andrew B. West

Andrew West received the B.Sc. degree in laser physics and optoelectronics from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, U.K., in 1992. Before joining National Semiconductor, he has held several Software engineering positions within UK and US based companies. He is currently a TCAD systems engineer at National Semiconductor, Santa Clara, CA. He worked with the U.K. MoD in 1993 through 1995 as a scientific officer with an interest in Radiation Dosimetry. He then worked as a software engineer with BAeSEMA from 1995 till 1999. In 1999, he joined Silvaco Data Systems as a software engineer until he moved to his current employer in 2005. His main area of interest is in device layout and place and route automation.
