Bio
I develop theory to explain and predict population and evolutionary biology of host-parasite interactions. Recent work has been focusing on vector-borne diseases including epizootic hemorrhagic disease, which is transmitted by biting midges in the Culicoides genus; and Lyme disease transmitted by black-legged ticks. These systems have strong connections to classical ideas in ecology such as ecological niches, source-sink dynamics and phenology.
