个人简介
Andrew D. Beyer received the Ph.D. degree in physics from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 2009, focusing on condensed matter physics and superconductivity. Then he moved to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), National Aeronautics and Space Administration. At JPL, he was a Postdoc for two years before accepting a position in the Superconducting Devices Group. He spends the majority of his time fabricating superconducting detectors, including superconducting nanowire single photon detectors, kinetic inductance detectors, quantum capacitance detectors, and previously, as a Postdoc, he made transition edge sensors. These detectors aim to serve the needs for space- and ground-based applications.
He also continues research into the materials comprising these different detectors to further
improve their performance.
