His research interests fall largely within comparative management, human resource management and employment relations. He is the Academic Coordinator of Dissertations at the International Management MSc, and his teaching includes Comparative Business Management (undergraduate) and European Business (postgraduate). In his research he applies a comparative and institutional perspective, and current projects and interests are focused on: digitalisation of service work and platform work; digital firms, platform networks and competitive dynamics; job quality and high-performance work systems.
His research has been published in a wide range of top journals such as: British Journal of Industrial Relations, Work Employment & Society, Business History, International Journal of HRM, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, New Technology, Work and Employment, Economic and Industrial Democracy, Journal of Common Market Studies, among others. Andreas’ research and op-eds have appeared in media and practitioner outlets such as: The Conversation, LSE Business Review, Business Horizons, ETUI Policy Briefs, Employee Benefits Connect, Business Management INK, and others.
Andreas has acted as an expert evaluator for the European Commission, the Economic and Social Research Council, the British Council, and the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). He sits in the Editorial Board of the journal Work, Employment & Society and is a Member of the Peer Review College (PRC) of the British Academy of Management (BAM). He has also been an Academic Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. Past prizes, honours and distinctions include Teaching Award Nominations (King's College London); Inspiring Leadership in Society Prize (NUI); the ‘Mike Rose’ Prize (WES) and the ‘Keith Thurley’ Prize (LSE).
Andreas received his PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science and worked as a researcher in large multi-country EU-funded projects (DYNAMO, RECWOWE). He has been visitor at the University of Amsterdam; the National University of Ireland (Galway); the European University Institute (Florence); and the Athens University of Economics and Business. Finally, he is a member of several professional and academic associations such as: the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE); the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS); the Industry Studies Association (ISA); and the British Sociological Association (BSA).
