个人简介
Anastasios Papathanasopoulos (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 2017, and the Ph.D. degree at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, USA, under the supervision of Prof. Yahya Rahmat-Samii at the Antenna Research, Analysis, and Measurement Laboratory, in 2022.
He has authored or coauthored 20 technical journal and conference papers and one book chapter. His research interests include design and prototyping of metamaterial inhomogeneous lens antennas for next-generation spaceborne wind scatterometer weather radar satellites. Other research interests include computational electromagnetics, gradient refractive index (GRIN) metamaterials, orbital angular momentum, optimization, and applied mathematics.
Dr. Papathanasopoulos was a recipient of several awards, including the 2017 UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science Fellowship from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. In 2019, he was awarded the Future Investigator in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) Research Grant, the Onassis Foundation Scholarship, the URSI National Radio Science Meeting Travel Grant, and the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2020, he received the third best place award among all the papers in the 42nd Annual Meeting and International Symposium of the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA). In 2022, he received the UCLA Distinguished Ph.D. Dissertation Research Award Finalist certificate.
