个人简介
Amanda Gilbertson is an anthropologist with research interests in the reproduction and contestation of inequalities in urban India. She is particularly interested in class, gender and education, and has published on topics ranging from access to quality schooling in Hyderabad to youth activism around gender issues in Delhi.
She is currently researching the implementation of India's Right to Education Act in Lucknow, funded by a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2019-2022) from the Australian Research Council. Amanda has a DPhil (PhD) in Anthropology from the University of Oxford, and has been at the University of Melbourne since 2014, first as a McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Social and Political Sciences, then as Lecturer in Youth and Contemporary India at the Australia India Institute (2017-2019), and now as an ARC DECRA Fellow back in the School of Social and Political Sciences.
