Alp Sehirlioglu Alp Sehirlioglu (A’08–M’12–SM’15) received the M.S. degree from Alfred University, Alfred, NY, USA, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, IL, USA, in 2005. In 2006, he joined Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, as a Research Associate, where he was a Research Assistant Professor in 2009 and the Warren E. Rupp Assistant Professor in 2014, and is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He has authored or coauthored more than 40 papers. He holds one U.S. patent on high-temperature piezoelectrics. He is now focusing on interfaces both in bulk applications for energy conversion and storage and in 2-D systems including hetero-interfaces and exfoliated oxides. Dr. Sehirlioglu is a member of the Ferroelectrics Committee in the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control (IEEE TUFFC), where he is serving as the Publications Chair. He is also serving as an AdCom Member of IEEE TUFFC and a Technical Programming Committee Member for the IEEE International Symposium on the Applications of Ferroelectrics (ISAF) meetings. He was the Proceedings Chair in the IEEE ISAF–International Workshop on Acoustic Transduction Materials and Devices–Piezoresponse Force Microscopy Workshop conferences, in 2014 and 2017. He was the Technical Chair of the ISAF Meeting in 2018, in Hiroshima, Japan, and will act as the General Chair in 2023, in Cleveland, OH, USA. He was a recipient of the AFOSR Young Investigator Program Award and NSF CAREER Awards. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Ceramic Society.
