Alexey P. Shitvov (M'08) received the Diploma Engineer degree in semiconductor devices and microelectronics from the Nizhny Novgorod State University, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree from the Queen's University Belfast (QUB), Belfast, U.K., in 2009. From 2013 to 2017, he was a Lecturer with the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, QUB. He is currently a Research Associate with the School of Physics and Astronomy, Cardiff University, Cardiff, U.K., working on the design and applications of millimeter-wave and THz metasurfaces. His research interests include characterization and modeling of communication nonlinearities, design of millimeter-wave metasurfaces and devices-based thereon, and physics and modeling of SAW devices.
