Alexandre Valentinovich Evfimievski graduated with excellence from the Dept. of Mechanics and Mathematics at M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, in 1997, specializing in algorithmic complexity and logic under the supervision of Prof. Nikolai Vereshchagin. In 1998 he entered graduate school in the Dept. of Computer Science at Cornell University, where he received his M.Sci. in 2003 and his Ph.D. in 2004. At Cornell, he worked on privacy preserving data mining and private information sharing under the supervision of Prof. Johannes Gehrke. Since August 2004, Alexandre is a research staff member in the Intelligent Information Systems group at IBM Research - Almaden in San Jose, California, where he does research in privacy and data mining.
