Alexander J. Casson (Senior Member, IEEE) received the undergraduate degree in 2006 and the M.Eng. degree in engineering science (specialising in electronic engineering) from the University of Oxford, Oxford, U.K., in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree from Imperial College London, London, U.K., in 2010. He is currently a Reader with the School of Engineering, University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K.; a Visiting Reader with the School of Medicine, University of Leeds, Leeds, U.K.; and an Honorary Reader with the Medical Physics Department, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, Salford, U.K. He has cross-disciplinary appointments to support this work. He is a Future Leader in Innovation, Enterprise and Research for the Academy of Medical Sciences, London, a Bioelectronics Technology Platform Lead with the Henry Royce Institute, Manchester, and a Fellow of The Alan Turing Institute, London. He is a Specialist in noninvasive bioelectronic interfaces: the design and application of wearable sensors, and skin-conformal flexible sensors, for human body monitoring and data analysis from highly artefact prone naturalistic situations. Dr. Casson is the immediate Past Chair of the IET Healthcare Technologies Network and the Biomedical Engineering Joint Steering Group. He is currently a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
