Albert To received the B.S. degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 1997, the first M.S. degree in civil and environmental engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, in 1999, and the second M.S. degree in Earth and planetary science and the Ph.D. degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 2005. He is a William Kepler Whiteford Professor of Engineering with the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA. His primary research interests are in design optimization for additive manufacturing, multiscale methods, and computational mechanics.
