Alasdair MacLullich is Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Alasdair works clinically in acute geriatrics and orthogeriatrics. His research interests include the neuropsychological assessment of delirium, delirium treatment, the pathophysiology of delirium, and hip fracture care. He is the main author of the well-validated (>5000 patients, 27 studies) 4AT delirium detection tool (www.the4AT.com). Alasdair is active in education, advocacy, and clinical implementation in the fields of delirium and hip fracture care. He co-founded the European Delirium Association, co-chaired the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Group (SIGN) national delirium guidelines committee, and is current Chair of the Scottish Government Hip Fracture Audit.
