Bio
My background and current work is in the physics and engineering of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). We develop new methods, either at the acquisition or processing stage, with the ultimate goal of improving the use of MRI for human health. Main clinical applications have been to neurological diseases including multiple sclerosis. My lab focuses on quantitative mapping of tissue parameters including relaxation and susceptibility mapping. We have our own research MRI facility situated in the University of Alberta Hospital which includes a 100% research 3T Siemens Prisma and a 4.7T system. Graduate students typically have a BME, electrical engineering or physics background. In all projects, image processing is an important component.
