His current research interests include applied electrostatics and high-voltage engineering, which includes electrostatic precipitation, particle charging, plasma sterilization, methanol synthesis, and environmental technologies, especially in charge of several projects developing new methods of manipulating single-deoxyribonucleic-acid molecules.,Prof. Mizuno is a member of the Institute of Electrostatics Japan, the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, the Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology, the Society of Chemical Engineers Japan, the Japan Society of Applied Physics, and the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research. He is the Editor of the International Journal of Plasma Environmental Science and Technology.
