Ainhoa Hernández

Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC promotion 1999-2005). MIR speciality in Medical Oncology at the Hospital Ntra. Sra. De La Candelaria, Tenerife. During my residency I had the opportunity to carry out two stays: one abroad, in the Sarcoma Unit of the Royal Marsden Hospital, and another national one in the genitourinary tumours unit of the Catalan Institute of Oncology in Hospitalet. After completing my speciality, I worked at the Dr. Molina Orosa Regional Hospital in Lanzarote. Given my interest in translational research, and with the aim of developing my professional career, I moved to Barcelona in 2014. From 2014 to 2018 I was part of the Medical Oncology Service of the Hospital de Mar, directed by Dr. Albanell, focusing on thoracic and gynaecological tumours and being an active part in different working groups and tumour committees. At the end of my substitution contract, I worked at the H. de Mataró (2018-2020) continuing my specialisation in the same pathologies. In 2019 I participated in the elaboration of the 3rd edition of the SEOM Continuing Care manual and in the update of the ICO-ICS praxis of ovarian cancer. In addition, I have completed the SEOM postgraduate course in Medical Oncology (2014) and the Master's degree in Molecular Oncology offered by the National Cancer Research Centre (2017). Since January 2020, I have been working at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) in Badalona, specifically in the area of thoracic tumours and brain tumours. I am working on my doctoral thesis "Characterisation of the immune phenotype and immunohistochemical identification of the mesenchymal subtype of glioblastoma based on transcriptomic expression data", under the supervision of Dr. Balaña and Dr. Carrato, both leading experts in the oncological and anatomopathological field of brain tumours. I am also the coordinator of the Functional Unit of Neuro-Oncology at HUGTiP-ICO Badalona, I'm a member of GECP and member of the board
