个人简介
Aimee is a molecular microbiologist in Associate Professor Christopher McDevitt’s group, investigating metal homeostasis and infectious bacterial disease. Her PhD investigated the genetic regulation and evolutionary development of enteric pathogens Citrobacter rodentium and pathogenic E. coli, under the supervision of Dr Ji Yang and Professor Roy Robins-Browne at the University of Melbourne. After her PhD, she moved to the Gold Coast and worked with Associate Professor Kate Seib at the Institute for Glycomics, Griffith University on human-specific pathogens Neisseria meningitidis and Moraxella catarrhalis. This work primarily focused on phase variable epigenetic regulator proteins and their associated phasevarions, and virulence determinants and mechanisms of pathogenesis in M. catarrhalis.
