RESEARCH SUMMARY
Adam Skolnick completed the combined BA-MD program at Brown University. He then trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, for both his internship and residency in internal medicine. His specialty training in cardiovascular disease was completed at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he was twice named the fellow of the year and served as chief cardiology fellow.
Dr. Skolnick serves as the director of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine cardiovascular pathophysiology course and is active in the echocardiography laboratory at NYU Langone Health. He was named the Department of Medicine Teacher of the Year in 2013, the NYU Distinguished Teacher in the Basic Sciences in 2016 and the NYU Distinguished Teacher in the Clinical Sciences in 2021. He was inducted into the AOA Honor Medical Society in 2020 as the recipient of the AOA Outstanding Teacher award. In 2021, he was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award from NYU.
Dr. Skolnick is board-certified in general cardiology, internal medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American Heart Association. He is listed annually as a NY Times Super Doctor in Cardiology, a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and in New York Magazine Best Doctors. Dr. Skolnick has been featured on National Public Radio, Popular Science and in Men's Health Magazine. He has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, served as an official reviewer of the 2014 ACC/AHA Valvular Heart Disease Guidelines and was on the 2019 Program Planning Committee of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Skolnick is dedicated to outstanding patient care and effective communication with patients and their families.
