The primary research interests of Neena S. Abraham, M.D., include patient-centered outcomes, value analysis and policy outcomes related to use of pharmacologic agents, and gastrointestinal disorders. Specifically, Dr. Abraham investigates how anti-thrombotic drugs contribute to gastrointestinal bleeding, with particular attention to their effects in cardiac patients, the elderly and the highly comorbid. Dr. Abraham also studies the impact of patient engagement in medical decision-making and collaborative care models, involving gastroenterologists and cardiologists to enhance patient safety, best practice prescription strategies and health-modifying behaviors.
