During my ongoing post-doctoral research, I am working on engineered T-cell receptors (TCRs), which are hTERT specific and MHC II restricted. I aim to develop allogeneic transgenic TCR cell therapy for cancer treatment, by using CRISPR/Cas9 based gene editing. Previously, during my Ph.D., I investigated the role of an anti-cancerous therapy, Photo Dynamic Therapy, on human immune system and its potential for treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Photo Dynamic Therapy is an emerging anti-cancerous modality which is based on photo-activation of a dye (known as photosensitizer or PS), to induce tumoral cytotoxicity in in-vitro and in-vivo models.
