Aaron is the Chair of Human Computer Interaction in SACHI: St Andrews HCI in the School of Computer Science at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He has published over 140 internationally peer-reviewed publications including edited volumes, journal papers, book chapters, conference and workshop papers, holds 3 patents and has given over 50 invited talks. He was previously the deputy director for SICSA, director of the Human Interface Technology Laboratory Australia (HIT Lab AU) and has held academic and industry appointments in Australia, Japan, USA, Germany, Ireland and the UK. He is currently the Editor-In-Chief for the Journal Computers and a visiting Professor in Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. He has graduated 4 PhDs, 2 MSc, 9 Minor MSc students and over 17 honours students. His research and supervision has been funded by the AHRC, JISC, DSTL, SFC, SFI, NDRC, IRCSET, NICTA, Smart Internet CRC, IBM, Microsoft and the EU (FP7 and FP6). He is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), a senior member of the IEEE, a member of the ACM and a recipient of a National Institute of Engineers Australia award for excellence in engineering education. He was the general co-chair MobileHCI 2014, and for UIST 2013 and ITS 2013 (in St Andrews in Oct 2013), and has held chairing roles in twenty international conferences and has served on over eighty international conference and workshop program committees.
