My research interest is focus on Solid State Chemistry. I am devoted to the structural, chemical and morphological characterization of functional materials by diffractometric techniques and atomically resolved electron microscopy. The aim of my research is to unveil the relationship between the atomic structure and the specific properties of materials - oxides, sulfides, nitride or silicon based – with potential ferroelectric, magnetic, catalytic and cathode-luminescent response. I have carried out this research as part of several worldwide recognized Solid State Chemistry and Microscopy groups. I completed my the PhD in Chemistry at the University Complutense of Madrid (2009) and I have worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Quantum Matter Physics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, (2009-2010); in the Laboratorie de Phisique the la Materie Condensee at the CNRS-University Paris XI, France, (2010-2011), and at the Univerisity Complutense of Madrid, Spain, (2012-Current). During this period, I awarded two competitive Individual Postdoctoral National Fellowships: Postdoctoral MEC fellowship to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University Paris XI and the International Excellence Campus Postdoctoral Fellow at the University Complutense of Madrid. I have been Principal Investigator of 2 Individual Research Projects (2015 and 2019) at the University Complutense de Madrid and I have participated in other 8 as a reasearch member (2009-2023). I am coauthor of one International Patent and I have published 49 papers in high impact peer-reviewed Chemistry, Physics and Material Science journals, among them: 1 Advanced Materials, 3 Nature Commun., 1 Angewandte Chemie Int. Ed., 2 Nano Letters, 1 J.A.C.S., 1 Adv. Funct. Mater. and 5 Chem. Mater. I have presented my results as oral presentations in 38 International conferences (5 invited) and in 40 more conferences as a poster contribution. Additionally, my teaching experience includes Bachelor courses at Inorganic Chemistry Department (University Complutense of Madrid) and Master's courses in Materials Engineering (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) in English and Spanish.
