Completed a successful and distinguished career in the National Health Service (NHS) and at the Department of Health (DH). Worked in various clinical settings, research and policy development in Mental Health and Public Health for nearly 40 years. Co-founder of The Centre for Applied Research and Evaluation International Foundation - Careif - a charity based at the Centre for Psychiatry, St. Barts and The London School of Medicine & Dentistry, London, UK. Also the creator of GEOPSYCHIATRY, which aim to study the influences of globalisation, foreign policy, (geo-politics) climate change, conflict and public health disasters on mental health & mental illness with the CAPE Vulnerability Index (CVI). CVI offers a different perspective to rebalance & challenge prevailing narrative of how Foreign Aid is utilised- "putting mental health into foreign policy".
