Andrei N Goncharov

Andréi Goncharov was born in Krasnorechensk, U.S.S.R., in 1956. He graduated from Novosibirsk State University, Novosibirsk, Siberia, in 1978. He recevied the Ph.D. degree in 1990, from the Institute of Thermophysics, Novosibirsk, for work on high-resolution laser spectroscopy of ${\rm I}_{2}$ and frequency stabilization of an argon–ion laser. Since then, has been with the Institute of Laser Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, Novosibirsk. From 1993 to 2004, he was a Visiting Researcher and Invited Professor at the Laboratoire de Physique des Lasers, University Paris 13, Villetaneuse, France, working on high-resolution Raman spectroscopy of iodine, molecular interferometry, and optical-frequency measurements with a femtosecond laser frequency comb. He is the leader of the Atom Interferometry Team of the Institute of Laser Physics SB RAS. His research interests are high-resolution laser spectroscopy, optical frequency standards, atom optics, and interferometry.
