Ajay Agarwal (Senior Member, IEEE) was a Technical Staff Member with the Institute of Microelectronics, Singapore, for over nine years, and SCL, Chandigarh, India, and USHA India Ltd., Faridabad, India, for over six years. He is currently a Senior Principal Scientist with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)—Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Pilani, India. He is involved in the development of nanotechnologies, MEMS, microfluidics, and microsensors. His engagement with semiconductor industries and research institutes is for over three decades. He has supervised 14 Ph.D. students. He has authored 280 research publications in peer-reviewed journals or international conferences and over 60 invited/plenary/keynote talks and holds over 35 patents (granted or filled).
Dr. Agarwal is a Life Fellow of IETE, India, the Semiconductor Society of India, MSI, India, and The Institution of Engineers, India, a member of the IAAM-International Association of Advanced Materials, Sweden, and MRS, Singapore, until 2009, and an Associate Editor of Healthcare Technology Letters. He was a recipient of various awards including the 2008 National Technology Award, Singapore, the 2009 Excellence Award, IME Singapore, the Collaboration Development Award British High Commission, Singapore, in 2005 and 2006, and Super Kaizen (four times) and Best Kaizen (seven times) from USHA India Ltd. His biography has been included in the Who’s Who in the World, which profiles the most accomplished men and women in the world since 2010 and in Who’s Who in Asia since 2012.
