Pierre-Daniel Pfister was born in Switzerland. He received the M.Sc. degree in physics in 2005 and the Ph.D. degree in 2010 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology-Lausanne (EPFL). He studied for one year at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is now Associate Professor at Zhejiang University. He currently l eads 2 Master students and co-lead one PhD students. His teaching involves one class on electrical machines for 3rd year Bachelor students, and one class on permanent-magnet machines for Master and PhD students. His research interests are in the field of permanent magnet machines, magnetic geared machines, magnetic field c alculation, and analytical optimization.
