Diego Gutierrez is a Professor at the Universidad de Zaragoza, in Spain, where he founded and leads the Graphics and Imaging Lab. His main areas of interest include physically based simulation of light transport, virtual reality, and computational imaging. He has published many papers on these topics, including 22 publications presented in the SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH Asia conferences. He has received a Google Faculty Research Award in 2015, and an ERC Consolidator Grant from the European Union in 2016. He has acted as program chair for several international conferences, including Eurographics (2018), the Symposium on Rendering (2012), or the Symposium on Applied Perception (2013), as well as the technical briefs program for SIGGRAPH Asia (2017 and 2008), or courses for Eurographics in 2017. He was the chair of the ACM Student Research Competition in 2010, and has been on the SIGGRAPH (2018, 2017, 2013, 2012), SIGGRAPH Asia (2016, 2015, 2013, 2012, 2009), and Eurographics (2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2011, 2010, 2007) program committees. In addition, he has been Editor in Chief of the ACM journal Transactions on Applied Perception (2014..2016), and associate editor on many others like ACM Transactions on Graphics, or Computer Graphics Forum. He has given many invited talks, acting as keynote speaker in 10 international conferences.
