Cleo Cabuz is the VP of Engineering for Honeywell’s Industrial Safety Business. In this role, Cleo is responsible for driving innovation in the development of a highly diverse portfolio of products which protect people’s life. Cleo started with Honeywell in1995, as a Research Scientist in Honeywell's Corporate Sensos Labs. She advanced to Lab Director, and ulterior VP of Engineering for different business units inside Honeywell. Prior to joining Honeywell, Cleo held various faculty positions in leading academic institutions in Romania and Japan. Cleo holds PhD degrees in Integrated Microsystems from Tohoku University, Japan and Politehnica University, Bucharest, and a MSEE from the Electronics Department of Politehnica University, Bucharest, Romania. Ceo's early scientific contributions are in the area of inertial sensors (MEMS gyros), electrostatic mesoactuators and hand held blood analyzers. Later, she pioneered the use of advanced wireless sensor networks, location technologies and the development of a connected safety ecosystem for workers in high risk environments. Between 2003-2005 Cleo served as the Executive Director of the MEMS Industry Group, which inducted her in the MEMS Industry Hall of Fame. Cleo received the 2003 Honeywell ACS Lion Award for Innovation in Sensors and the 2011 Honeywell Senior Leadership VPD Award for excellence in product development. Cleo holds over 50 US Patents and is listed in Honeywell’s Inventor’s Hall of Fame.
