Alexander V. Arkhipov was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1963. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical electronics from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Saint Petersburg, in 1986 and 1998, respectively. He has been with the Physical Electronics Department, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, since 1986, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He has over 30 years of experience in scientific research in the fields of charged-particle beams, electron emission, vacuum microwave electron devices, plasma physics, and scientific computing. He has published more than 90 journal articles and conference proceedings papers.
