主要研究方向为结直肠外科和肛肠外科，尤其是结直肠肿瘤的临床与基础研究。临床上主要从事腹腔镜和开腹结直肠手术、低位直肠癌保肛手术、直肠癌新辅助治疗、经肛门内镜微创手术（TEM）、痔上直肠粘膜环切钉合术（PPH）、炎症性肠病的外科治疗、肠梗阻的诊治等研究。2015年的医疗工作量：主刀手术280余台，门诊诊治病人1800余例。
